It’s been all go lately for the Spitting Pig hog roasters of Cardiff. We’re getting quite a name for ourselves as a byword in quality food and we’ve catered for some quite large and formal events over the past few weeks. But whatever the event no matter how large or small some things stay the same: like our locally sourced organic, free range meats.
A family in Goldcliff a small coastal village had heard about our excellent hog roasts and got in touch to see if we’d be able to cater for their sons 21st birthday party. Of course we were more than happy to bring great food to help someone celebrate their birthday!
We had been in contact with the family to talk about our extensive menus and help them to decide what would be best for them. One thing they were certain about was that they wanted to take advantage of our marquee. With this weather being as unpredictable as it has been they thought it best to have it there to keep the rain off. If it didn’t rain there would also be shade from the sun. With this in mind they also opted for one of our buffet style menus so the food would be completely protected.
The party was a huge success. The weather wasn’t too bad; the buffet tables that we had set up while the meat roasted looked fantastic. We had also been asked to provide an assortment of salads and potatoes which we made on site, because there’s nothing worse than a wilted salad when you’re hungry! We think it’s this kind of attention to detail that makes us the best in our field.
Once the guests had finished eating and the catering side of the party was over we cleared everything away and left the venue spotless, leaving the family to enjoy the rest of their party.
This was one of our less formal jobs; but when it’s called for we have a great team of professional chefs and highly trained serving staff to call upon. If you decide a sit down formal meal is the best option for your event, our serving staff will wait tables and clear away efficiently.
We also have a wide range of menus to choose from all crafted with care and prepared from the highest quality ingredients. We can also provide vegetarian options made to the same high standard. Although hog roasting is what we’re best known for, our specially designed ovens can cook a number of different meats. Our spring lamb with mint sauce is always complimented for its tasty tenderness, but we really can cook anything from hog roasts to kebabs. So whatever your taste in food, we’re sure we’ve got a menu for you.
