The small village of Abergorlech was the venue set for the 2015 Valentine’s Hog Roast and coincidently Peter and Lisa’s 25th Wedding Anniversary!! Ample parking was provided on the top field, fortunately dry for this time of year. The 80 guests started arriving from lunch time onwards, gathering around the hog roast machine, not only to absorb the amazing aroma from the roasting pig but to warm their hands!!
The hog roast Abergorlech was fired up at 6am that morning, ready for the 4pm serve. This allowed all the natural flavours of this rare breed, free range pig to be cooked to perfection, the meat literally falling off the bone. This is classic pulled pork, complimented by soft white rolls, crispy crackling, apple sauce & sage & onion stuffing.
On a cold misty February afternoon what could be better than a delicious pork rolls, green leaf mixed salad & beef tomato/mozzarella with basil, and a celebration of 25 years of marriage with eighty of your best mates!!!
A good time was had by all courtesy of Spitting Pig Wales.
