The Resolven RFC was the venue for the 90th Birthday Party of Mrs Williams, which was a Hog Roast for 100 guests. The cricket pitch at the far end was having a celebratory game and once all the overs had been bowled, the players eagerly came in following the delicious smell from the Hog Roast.
The Hog Roast team had 
travelled to Resolven from their farm, using one of their own free range rare breed pigs. The guests quickly lined up once the Hog Roast was ready, 12 hours of slow cooking created this wonderful, tender, moist pork roll. There was an accompaniment of tomato & mozzarella, spring salad and minted new potatoes.
The cricket players & guests came back for 2nd & 3rd and it wasn’t long before 
most of the hog roast was gone. All that was left for the guests to do was sit back in the sun, enjoy the scenic views across the playing fields and sample the local Resolven beer. Mrs Williams had a wonderful time watching all the guests enjoy themselves and was thrilled when they sang ‘Happy Birthday’. All that was left for the Hog Roast Team was to discreetly pack up and travel back from Resolven.
