Dining and family are inherently interlinked. Growing up we’ll all remember the family dinners, the special lunches on the big occasions, the nonsense around the dining table, the encouragement to finish your greens before you can have dessert – family and dining are integral to each other for so many of us.
With our catered events, the same is so often true again. Few events have remined of us that better than this weeks featured one – an extraordinary 90th birthday for Sarah’s mum in Pembrokeshire. We’d all do anything for our mothers and grandmothers, so celebrating their 90th is a must. To celebrate her mum, Sarah put together a very special family lunch with the help of the Hog Roast Pembrokeshire team. With a massive summer feast on offer, the family memories had one more fond mealtime experience to add to the list!
Several generations of family around the one table. We knew right away at Hog Roast Pembrokeshire that we would need something truly special to kick off the meal. With it being summer still, we figured our antipasti grazing table was the perfect way to go. Nice and light to start off while also looking impressive, bursting with colour and flavour and giving just a variety of tastes so that there could be something to be found for everyone. If the fancier artisanal breads or Italian cheeses for the kids weren’t quite right, at least mum or gran could enjoy them while some salami or breadsticks might better suffice. Our grazing tables are also great for family style dining, as everyone can just help themselves without it feeling formal.
Next up was our hog roast buffet, in keeping with the more laidback family style of dining. The family could come and pick from our signature roast or a veggie alternative in our BBQ pulled jackfruit, homemade gourmet coleslaw, tomato and mozzarella salad, mixed leaves, herb dressed potatoes and then later a dessert – once all the greens had been enjoyed, of course!
It was a wonderful lunch to cater and one which the Hog Roast Pembrokeshire team will not forget anytime soon. Our thanks to Sarah for helping us put the whole thing together.
