Good Morning Wales
Over the last couple of weeks our inquires have risen drastically and we have been very busy spitting pigs! At the weekend myself and our team hit the road to the south of Wales and headed to Celtic Manor Resort golf course to cater for a 50th birthday party. With the van fully loaded with our spit roast machine and the fresh ingredients to cook we set up and put the pig on the spit, while the hog was slowly roasting at the back of the 18th green, I enjoyed nine holes of golf with one of our chefs, then later served 120 guests a mouth watering feast of hog roast served with crispy golden crunchy crackling with homemade bramley apple sauce.
Spitting Pig Wales also provided another pig in a bun menu for Kristy for a Birthday party in Capel Celyn which is a lovely little village between Pantglas and Rhosygwalia. We were expecting to set up in the car park but were asked to set up in the grave yard as the car park was being dug up. This is a first for us serving in a grave yard and it was a bit eerie. Some of the photo’s we took in the evening were a bit spooky with what looks like misty figures in the background…. scary !!!! With the event going so well, Kristy recommended us to her family and friends.
With winter ascending on Wales very soon your probably thinking that no one will want a hog roast in the cold weather, but here at spitting pig we will cater for your event whatever the weather. We can provide a gazebo to shelter your food and guests so you wouldn’t need to worry. Our festive menu is now available on the lead up to Christmas we have added:
Whole roast turkey
Chefs own recipe gravy, delicious apple or cranberry sauce and piping hot sage and onion stuffing.
Served with carrots, mange tout & green beans and cauliflower cheese.
Warm New Potatoes in Herb Butter.
On Saturday Spitting Pig Hertfordshire were once again the centre of attention at Kerry’s wedding reception in Edgware. They were married in Westminster and then traveled back on two red London buses while the guests sipped champagne and took in some of the historic sights.
Upon arriving at the venue out team of mature and very experienced waitresses and waiters greeted the guests with champagne and orange juice and a variety of our home made delicious canapes.
The wedding banquet was succulent hog roast with crispy crackling and spit roasted chickens, with salads, new potatoes with mint and then we served their wedding cake which we dressed with ripe berries and served with cream.
All our serving tables and equipment were quickly cleared away with no fuss and the serving area was transformed into a dance floor in minutes for the party to get going in full swing with the band playing a melody of music both new and old.
We also had teams of chef’s and assistants working in Letch worth Garden City where we catered for Caroline’s party. We provided our most popular menu of hog, crispy crackling with apple sauce and stuffing with an array of colourful and tasty salads and new potatoes which are all made freshly on site.
We also were at Rebecca’s party in Kingston, Surrey where once again one of our team of highly skilled chef’s and assistants were cooking a spit roast lamb with roasted new potatoes and salads.
All three jobs on Saturday night finished around the same time and with three vans turning up at out unit in Hemel Hempstead at about 11:30 at night it was a quick turn about and the vans were unloaded and the kits for the jobs on Sunday morning were packed ready for an early get away.
On Sunday we catered for Katie for her daughters Christening in Bayfordbury. Katie actually lives in Cheshunt but when she booked she said space was a problem at her address so could we cater for her at her sister’s house. I jokingly said… why does she live in a mansion. Well we turned up at Bayfordbury Mansion… and what a place. This really is one of the grandest venues we have been to.
They had a marquee in the gardens and we provided our popular menu 3 of pig in a bun, with scrumptious salads and hot new potatoes but also added a BBQ of sausages and burgers which were served with onions, cheese, gherkins and a variety of sauces and condiments.
Next week we will be catering for a wedding for Lyn and Mike in Lethbury near Newport Pagnell, as well as three other jobs on Saturday in Great Missenden, Denham and Staines. We also have a couple of meeting’s lined up in the week with couples looking for advice and prices for hog roast wedding catering next year and will be dropping off one of our Titan hog roast machines for a DIY hog roast.
