After asking Hog Roast Haverfordwest to cater for their wedding last year, Alex and Tom were so impressed with the service they received that they couldn’t wait to find an excuse to enjoy another one of our mouth-watering menus – and what better reason to celebrate than their one year anniversary! Hoping to tickle their guest’s tastebuds once again, the loved-up couple reached out to our customer service team to discuss catering options for the upcoming event, and this time around they found themselves placing a booking for our classic hog roast menu which blends traditional British flavours to create an outstanding meal that won’t soon be forgotten.
With the entire wedding party of 150 people set to attend the anniversary celebration at the couple’s home, Hog Roast Haverfordwest was in for a busy day ahead, but having catered for plenty of similar events in the past, the team remained confident in their abilities to pull it off. To keep the paper theme of the first wedding anniversary going, the duo also asked us to serve the meal to their guests on easily disposable paper crockery and with the special day just around the corner, everyone was buzzing with excitement.
Since the buffet was scheduled to be served at 3 pm, Hog Roast Haverfordwest arrived at Alex and Tom’s home with a six-hour window which allowed them plenty of time to transform the raw ingredients into a tantalising feast which centred around our famous spit-roasted pig. Some were so eager to fill their plates that they began arriving earlier than expected and as the catering crew added the finishing touches to the buffet, the guests jokingly complained that they were being driven wild by the aromatic feast!
Fortunately, they didn’t have long to wait and within the hour the classic hog roast menu was complete allowing guests to take their pick of succulent pulled pork, crispy crackling, savoury stuffing and for vegetarians and vegans the catering team had whipped up our increasingly popular grilled vegetable skewers with optionable haloumi. We have since heard back from Alex and Tom who are already thinking about next year’s wedding anniversary as they intend to make hog roasts an annual tradition!
