The 23rd of November is an incredibly important date for Whovians, a.k.a. fans of Doctor Who! Aptly named ‘Doctor Who Day’ or ‘TARDIS Day’, this date celebrates the launch of the BBC’s iconic science-fiction show. Amazingly, this year will mark 59 years since the popular sci-fi series first landed on our screens, and fans are gearing up to commemorate the best-loved franchise in a variety of ways.
Here in Wales, which just so happens to be the original filming location for the hit series, Hog Roast Lampeter’s band of caterers is preparing to help Max with his upcoming Doctor Who-themed party – and we can hardly wait! Our catering manager, Brad, has been working closely with the client over the last few weeks to help him get the most out of his event, which is set to host 95 people.
Hoping to impress everyone with our culinary abilities, Brad suggested Hog Roast Lampeter’s Southern Slow Roast Menu for the event, which boasts an enticing selection of three juicy meat options, a vegetarian/vegan-friendly main and a trio of tasty side dishes, all inspired by Deep Southern soul food!
Max was immediately on board with this idea and was pleased to be able to customise the menu to suit his tastes. From the options available, he has chosen our Texan 24-hour beef brisket, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens and fall-off-the-bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs with vegan pulled jackfruit rolls as the meat-free option.
In terms of side dishes, Hog Roast Lampeter will delight the guests with our tantalisingly tasty gourmet coleslaw, creamy potato salad, gluten-free rolls and wraps and a mixture of sweet potato and traditional fries. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Southern Slow Roast without some tasty sauces, so we’ll also be serving our smokey sweet BBQ glaze, fiery cajun hot pepper sauce and legendary hickory bourbon BBQ sauce for the guests to try.
Max has encouraged all of the guests to dress up for the occasion, with the best dressed set to win a fantastic prize on the night! As for Hog Roast Lampeter, we’re just thrilled to be taking part and cannot wait to cook up a storm when the time comes!
