The first in a series of open water sea swim this weekend. The attendance was fantastic this year, over 45 people chose to dive into the cold and choppy sea near to Llanengan. Weather conditions weren’t ideal, a north westerly wind had been blowing all night raising a 3 foot swell, doesn’t sound much but when you a swimming in it can be likened to being in a washing machine!
As a treat for the brave swimmers & spectators braving the cold & rain, Spitting Pig Wales was asked to put on a Hog Roast Llanengan from the Hub, a great combination, a hot pork roll and a steaming cup of tea from the Hub bar. The free range pig from our own farm, Ffos Yr Ewig drew in the competitors with the amazing smell of cooked pork. The hot chilli sauce was in demand today, smothered over the tender moist pork. With that kind of enticement I’d almost be tempted to get in the water and have a swim. The swimmers & spectators quickly dispersed keen to get home and back in the warm. All that was left was the Spitting Pig Team to pack up the hog roast Llanengan and travel back to their farm in Llanfynydd.
