It has been well stated across the Spitting Pig socials and Hog Roast Swansea blogs that this has been an immense summer of sport. From Wimbledon to a blockbuster World Cup, the Rugby Nations Championship and a British Open. Across the last few months, so many of our events have revolved around sport.
Well for one local rugby club here in Swansea, the summer of sport has just come to a close – at least personally – as the U16s closed out their season with a summer party, catered by the team right here at Hog Roast Swansea.
When called about the event we knew right away that we were going to need to prepare quite the feast. If there’s a hungrier guest than a 16 year old rugby player, we would like to be told about it because we knew right away that this would be a group that could take a roast or two away with ease. After a hard working season, they certainly would have earned it too!
So, to ensure we had plenty for our 80 guests (including friends and family of the club) we appended our hog roast menu to also include gourmet butcher’s quality sausages and marinated grilled chicken thighs. Both could be thrown on the grill above our hog roast as it cooked away in the spit style inside our modern designed mobile roasting machine, meaning the dining could all come out at once for this hungry lot of rugby teenagers. To suit their appetites even more, we also had our grilled veg and halloumi skewers and our BBQ pulled jackfruit as veggie and vegan options. All rolls, wraps, and plates could also be piled high with a mix of regular and sweet potato fries, served with salt, vinegar, and a selection of our Sauce Shop sauces.
The end of season party was great. The players were delighted with their dining and assured us that we’ll have to come back again next year when they bring in the trophies. The Hog Roast Swansea team will be here holding you to that promise, boys!
