The weather certainly picked up this weekend for the surprise party Helen had organised for her husband Jason in Tongwynlais. Spitting Pig Wales travelled to the suburbs of Cardiff to cook one of their rare breed free range pigs, offering a real treat for the 80 guests. The crisp and bubbly crackling, the tender & succulent pork slow roasted for 12 hours all made a perfect accompaniment to the boiled new potatoes, tomato & mozzarella, homemade coleslaw and salad. For Jason it was his 40th Birthday, he thought there would be a small celebration but nothing of this magnitude, Helen had really pulled out all the stops, a musician, party games for the children and the centre piece ‘Spitting Pig Wales’ Hog Roast, in Tongwynlais. Once the excitement of Jason’s arrival had died down the guests tucked into the array of food and quickly had several 2nd & 3rd helpings of the hog roast, Tongwynlais. Plenty of alcoholic beverages to hand the party really started to take shape. Spitting Pig quietly packed up and left the party goers to dance long into the night.
